Tulsi Gabbard interview w/ The Young Turks

The Party of Abraham Lincoln

For what it is worth, and I am sure it is worth more than words can summarize, The Grand Old Party, formally known as The Republican Party, is truly the party of Abraham Lincoln. He was elected in 1860, and a quick one phrase summary of his Presidency would say with grand resolute, that he helped to defeat the Confederates, and he paved the ultimate pathway to free the slaves.

Always and forever will the Grand Old Party be the party of Abraham Lincoln.

I myself have been a Democrat most of my life. I am, because I believe my family members are, and more so because of my upbringing, it always felt as though that party was the one that had the greater influence on me and my surrounding society. I am an African-American, and I grew up in an urban environment, so like most in those environments, I registered to vote as a Democrat. Luckily enough I even got to witness, the first time around, an actual black man being elected President of The United States of America.

It was monolithic moment, and a true testament to just how far this great nation has come. But regardless of how important of a moment it was, it still doesn’t change what I said. The Republican Party, The Grand Old Party, is still the party of Abraham Lincoln. What Lincoln did for this country, is perhaps as important as any great deed ever done by any man in this nation, and yes, that ought to include George Washington, and all of the founding fathers.

The Emancipation Proclamation effectively acted as legislation that denounced slavery, opening the gateway for many enslaved Africans to gain their citizenship, and fight against the Confederates, and although this act could in no way remove the hundreds of years of injustice The USA and other nations had inflicted upon those slaves, it did essentially help out every African in the long run.

Thanks to the courage of a man like Abraham Lincoln, my ancestors and those I stand amongst now have more of what we call, freedom.

I say all of this, as a reminder to myself, and to any readers that I may have, that regardless of what side of the political aisle you may stand on, don’t let our currently leadership force you into believing one party stands supreme over the other. Regardless of the media backlash against Donald Trump, our current President, I do feel deeply within me that he not only stands for good, but for the safety, aid and security of all citizens in the USA, and not just the wealthy. I do not believe that he has a chance as becoming as great a man as Abraham Lincoln, for the emancipation proclamation did as much justice as writing the country into existence, but that does not mean we are all to write him off for his own personal troubles and gaffes. The man has a purpose, and is to serve the nation. Don’t let his ego get the best of you, for I am sure there are perhaps enormous characters flaws in every former President.

We ought to hold him to the same standard as Lincoln, and in this moment, this is where I will begin to do so. I’ll say again, I doubt that he can do anything for society as great as what Lincoln did, but he has a way of saying he is amongst the best. Remember, always remember that The Grand Old Party is the party of Abraham Lincoln.

Tulsi Gabbard Would Make a Great Commander-in-chief #TulsiGabbard2020

I say this, because she has already proven to be an efficient military leader. Also as such, she is also a very vocal political representative of her people, of the beautiful state of Hawaii.

Obama was born in Hawaii.

She stands for The American People. She swore in to serve her country, and as a leader, she has had various opportunities to endure the art of war. She now is a continuing Officer for The United States Army, and 15 years in, she works in conjunction with Congress and The House of Representatives to ensure that the people’s needs are met, and voices are heard.

She has a profound argument, which should be resonating with every American, and that message is that we are fighting too many wars.

She must have heard a voice say, “when are we going to end these wars?”

She argues that there is now to be a time for an era of peace; an era without war. A world, where we no longer butt our heads into foreign affairs, where other Nations perhaps may violently conflict with one another.

She argues for diplomacy well above the art of war.

An era without an obsessive desire to topple a Nation’s regime.

I believe that it will take an enormous amount of courage to accomplish, but I also believe that if we could, this great nation would save Trillions of dollars, which would open various paths for us to begin to more so invest more in our great Nation’s development.

So, I’ll dream of perhaps, 100 years without war. I’ll dream of 100 years without The United States of America fighting another country. I’ll dream of a century of prosperity, and better educational options, of enhanced health care, of massive infrastructural projects, better housing and decreased debts.

I’ll dream of a world without war, our world without war.

So, if even not for a century, maybe just a decade without conflict with another Nation, and era where The USA can focus vehemently on social justice and reforms that would help millions of more Americans prosper, and not have to stand idly, as decisions are made that inadvertently hinder the success of many American Dreamers, and not just those that, in today’s society, come here with the prospect of discovering just how truly amazing The American Dream can be.

Too early to call, obviously, I anxiously await to see her on the debate stage.

The Day of Tomorrow.

What will throttle, or should I say, revitalize America’s economy? What modern achievement, which in mass use could benefit people in variances of society, and grant us a reemerging economy? What new idea or creation will be what filters the massive debt that The USA holds?

Will there ever be such an idea?

I am no economist, so it would be difficult for me to give you the answers to my question. I, myself question how the United States of America will surpass the debt that it holds. It almost stands at 23 Trillion Dollars. When I was young, 1 trillion wasn’t a number that I would imagine to be our nation’s debt. Then again, who would I have been for it to have mattered?

No one, basically.

But I am looking at it now, as I have before, as millions of people have, this overwhelming debt that The USA now holds. We live in the era of technological advances, and we coexist with some of the world’s greatest minds. Their creations though, their magnificent gifts to the world fails to solve America’s debt. Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook will not be the business to revitalize America’s economy.

New York residents don’t want Jeff Bezos’ Amazon Headquarters overcrowding their State.

The obvious Military Industrial Complex fuels The President’s current bid for a wall along the southern border. The President foolishly failed to amass enough money to complete the wall, forcing America to withstand a government shutdown while in conjunction activating the distress factors of declaring a National Emergency for the unguarded portions of the southern border.

And, a Space Force.

Will The United States of America ever try to remove their debts?

If not, why not start making some things free?

The American Dream is not dead, Mr. President. It is alive, and We, The People, are aware.

How Strong is America’s Defense? #StateOfEmergency

The obvious answer is very strong. Hundreds of billions of dollars is now spent annually on America’s Defense. The United States Army is as strong as ever, and every other branch appears to exist without much flaw. As a matter of fact, one can conduct a bit of research and decipher that often times, too much is spent on the Department of Defense. Whirlwind headlines of Navy coffee mugs costing thousands of dollars can be a prime example of a Nation’s military with a budget that appears to have no end.

So my question is, with a military spread all over the entire world and allies spanning every continent, why has The President declared a State of Emergency?

The U.S. Government was recently Shut down for over 31 days, the longest recorded government shutdown in recorded history. With a military so strong, in a robust and prosperous Capitalist society, a shutdown is now the tail end to what appears to be a declaration of an emerging crisis.

In recent month’s time, there were reports of an invasion along the southern border, an actual cry from the President which has led him to orchestrate a campaign of border defense. His campaign includes most importantly, a 2000 mile long border wall between The U.S. and Mexico. Without rehashing the terrible war of words President Trump has had with others over this wall, it is easy to understand that he was incapable of acquiring the funds necessary to complete his campaign promise of building a massive border wall.

This, only days after a month long Government Shutdown, and after only acquiring 1 billion dollars of the 30+ or so billion dollars needed for his project, The President has now issued a State of Emergency.

How long does this remain in effect? Who does it effect? Are we as weak as he perceives? What is to come?

Perhaps the most important question may be, are we going to be invaded?

What a world of conspiracy. This is no Russian folk tale.

The Resignation of General James Norman Mattis, Secretary of Defense.

In a powerful display of opposition to President Trump announcing a complete withdrawal of troops from Syria, Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis submitted his letter of resignation. The letter, pictured below, highlights many facets that General Mattis enjoyed while Secretary of Defense, but the letter also plainly States to the President that he does not agree with the decision to withdraw troops from Syria, arguing that the move abandons allies on the battlefield.

Despite the resignation of General Mattis, and what appears to be a bipartisan pushback from both Republicans and Democrats, President Trump remains resilient in his decision to withdraw troops, explaining to the American People that ISIS has been defeated, and that he has been more successful than any President in modern history in defeating ISIS.

Several officials and News outlets have reported that the decision to withdraw troops was not advised by Senior military officials or The Pentagon, and that this is move done largely in part by Donald Trump.

Again, despite pushback from every angle, Trump remains resilient in downsizing the battlefields overseas, with rumors now floating the agenda that The President also intends to withdraw as many as 9,000 troops from Afghanistan as early as January.

General Mattis served four decades in The United States Marine Corps. He ends his career on a high note, putting countrymen and his allies before self. He will officially depart Trump’s Administration February 2019.

Vote: Election Day, November 6th 2018

The time of the year is upon us, where citizens across The United States of America now have the chance to exercise their rights and vote into office the candidates they believe will best represent them as Mayors, Governors, and congressional representatives in both The House and The Senate.

This Tuesday, November 6th 2018 is Election Day. Commonly referred to as The Midterms, this marks a day where we’ll essentially see either The Republican party maintain their dominance across the country, or The Democrats gaining much needed representation and control in The House or The Senate, to begin their process of amending many of the decisions Republicans have made.

For The Democrats, it is crucial that enough representatives are elected to seize control of either The House or The Senate, or both. If not, and if their campaigning fails as it did during the Presidential Election of 2016, where Donald Trump managed to seize victory over long-time Government server Hillary Clinton, The United States of America could begin to see policy implementation by The Republicans ramp up. Americans could also see the eradication of The Obama Era Healthcare Plan, an end to Birthright Citizenship, and tremendous cuts to spending on Social aid (Medicaid and Social Security).

It is important to vote.

Regardless of your party affiliation, if you feel concerned about a topic, or wish for change in your neighborhood and society, it is important to vote. As a registered Democrat, I am eager to vote, and I hope to see The Democrats pull off significant power grabs in Congress. As someone who voted in 2016 for a Democrat to be President, I’ve learned that polls are are no longer a trustworthy source to grasp voter turnout demographics. This year, the message is clear: go out and vote.

Come Tuesday, we decide the direction our country moves in. Vote for what you believe in. If Donald Trump does not sit right with you, and if you demand change right now, go out and vote. Your voice can be heard, and your power to vote can and will change the entire course of this Nation. It is of utmost importance, and I urge anyone who reads this, to go out and vote.

Looming Chaos: Debt In The United States.

Say what you will about The United States of America, you have to accept that it is now the strongest Country to ever exist. An unimaginable amount of money is spent on The Military, and victory after victory ensures the continuity of receiving upwards of 60% of Government spending annually, $500 to $700 Billion Dollars a year, more than the combined military expenditures of the next two most powerful nations combined. It is a trend that is likely never to change.

Ever.

Since the year 2000, after George W. Bush assumed office, U.S. debt sat at $5.6 Trillion Dollars. Unfortunate events plagued Bush’s Presidency, and the cost of fighting wars on two fronts, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, would later take a significant toll on the country. Once Obama assumed office, the debt had swelled to over $9 Trillion dollars. The unfortunate circumstances of the rising debt crippled many Americans (citizens, banks and corporations alike), and of it’s effects forced the nation into a period economic depression. With no other choice, a Stimulus Bill of $800 Billion Dollars was passed, enabling Americans to escape the effects of the recession and keep the government afloat.

Jobs were created. Americans had truly regained hope.

But the debt by the end of Obama’s Presidency had skyrocketed. The Stimulus Bill and increased defense spending had left now President Trump with a National debt of $19 Trillion Dollars, with 76% percent being held by the public.

Since 2016, the U.S. has increased spending and continued to lower taxes on corporations and wealthy citizens, and they also continued their excessive trend of military spending.

The debt now sits at $21 Trillion Dollars, and some estimates argue that by 2028 it will climb to $28 Trillion Dollars, eclipsing WWII deficits and outgrowing the overall U.S. economy.

But, this is not what politicians talk about. What they talk about is how Medicaid is too expensive, how Social Security needs to be cut and how Healthcare is either never going to be universal, or needs to be universal. It is almost as if no one wants to discuss the rising debts, and how it could very well be the true catalyst toward plummeting the United States into economic straits similar to Venezuela or Greece, a situation potentially worse than the recession of 2008. While some politicians do discuss the issue, like long time Independent from Vermont Bernie Sanders, they are often written off by the elite, with the argument that any strategic plan to tax the rich exponentially more than the poor or middle class would be chaotic and socialist, and that socialism in any form will never, ever work. But of those arguments there never emerges answers to the looming and unforeseen future we all will one day face because of our Government’s excessive military spending and other increasing government expenditures.

The future is bright. It is because we’ll pave it that way. But, also in the future is the looming presence of great adversity. The debt of The United States of America is an actual looming adversity waiting to happen, and it is time that a true bi-partisan effort is set in motion to fix this problem before it grows out of proportion.

The Border Wall: The Fight for The American Dream

Any average american will tell you that border protection is one of the major problems facing our Nation today. Over the past decade, studies have found that an average of 1 million immigrants have entered the country annually. As of today, there are roughly 37 million immigrants now residing here in the United States. Recent Presidents have a history of trying to implement comprehensive immigration policies, from George W. Bush’s welcoming message to immigrants (much to the dismay of his party), to Barrack Obama’s prolific speech acknowledging that the government had failed practices of immigration and that immigration reform needed to happen.

Walking to the beat of an entirely different drum from his predecessors, President Trump ran his entire campaign with the promise of dismantling any immigrant’s ability to cross into the U.S. illegally, and throughout his campaign demanded of the government to build a massive 2,000 mile long wall, reinforced with border agents along it’s mammoth divide between the United States and Mexico. The Wall is a campaign promise that has yet to be met, and different factions of the government are squabbling with one another to figure out just how this wall is going to be funded.

Although the process is taking longer than President Trump would have liked, it does appear that funds are accumulating.

The Wall has a proposed budget of around $18 billion dollars, yet legislation has never been implemented for a project of this caliber before (except for military projects). Given the sheer size and ramifications of it existing, key officials and lawmakers are still scrambling to find a way to fund the wall without the approval of The Democrats, who currently stand against the construction of the wall and still advocate for immigration reform. A recent proposal by Representative Bradley Bryne, Republican from Alaska, introduces legislation aimed at allowing Republicans to circumvent votes from Democrats to pay for the wall. The proposal has the same build as a proposal from 2017, which was used to pass a Tax Overhaul Bill. If the proposal works, and Republicans are allowed to pass legislation with around 50 votes, a request of funds from The U.S. Treasury at the tune of $25 billion dollars will be allocated to The Department of Homeland Security for both a security trust and border protection.
